Wedding Night! We have booked the penthouse at the Swan Hotel for our wedding night. It’s lovely - two decks, a Jacuzzi, and stairs through the ceiling to the widow’s walk. We’re psyched! Here’s the website if you want a peek:
Honeymoon! We will be spending 28 days in Italy (a full honey-moon). We'll be two weeks in Tuscany, cooking with tomatoes and riding bicycles through the countryside, a few days in Cinque Terre exploring the five hill towns, and one week in Rome giggling and being tourists.
We've acquired airline tickets via British Airways, direct Seattle to London, then London to Rome. We'll be leaving Seattle on Monday, May 9th, arriving in Rome late on Tuesday, May 10th. Hurrah!
We've booked our stay in Tuscany in a hilltop tower in the Chianti Senese region near San Gimignano, Siena and Florence. We'll be spending our time bicycling through olive groves and vineyards, day-tripping to Florence and Siena to visit local art museums and ancient temples, and tasting everything this incredible region has to offer in the way of food and drink. Tripe stories are sure to follow.
We're visiting Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera on the recommendation of our friend Jarah, and will spend four lovely days there ...
One week of our stay will be in fabulous Rome. We'll be staying in a small apartment rented from one of the locals, complete with its own kitchen. Located near the Spanish Steps and the whirlwind of Rome nightlife and turismo, this part of our stay is bound to bring back the most stories and tall tales. We're going to try to sample local opera (birthplace of opera!), ballet (birthplace of ballet!) and soccer (birthplace of - er ...) in addition to a few tourism mainstays like the Colosseum and the Pantheon.
We'll be returning late in the evening on Sunday, June 5th. Sigh ...
